After a long hiatus due to weather restrictions, the Nauset Warriors opened their season on Friday against Marshfield with a 5-1 victory .

Sr, Paul Prue pitched a complete game scattering 7 hits while striking out 8 and walking only 1. 

After trailing 0-1 in the third the Warriors struck back to tie Marshfield in the fourth when Prue scored from second on an over throw to first. The game remained tied until the seventh when Jr. Mike Doherty lead off with a double over the center fielder's head, Neil Connell pinch ran for Doherty and scored when Marshfield mis-handled Mason Swift's sac bunt. Kino Gray followed wth a single to left putting runners on 1st and 2nd. Owen Wilcox doubled with a shot down the left field line scoring both Swift and Gray,making the score 4-1. Wilcox then scored on a passed ball finishing up the scoring at 5-1.

Thw Warriors are 1-0 in their young season and will travel to Hingham on Monday to face a tough Hingham 9
