Nauset girls lose to strong Marshfield team.
Nauset faced a formidable team under cold and eventually rainy conditions, but still found a way to win five events and take second place in seven.
Monique Malcolm was a double winner for the second straight meet. Malcom won the 100M (12.2) and 200M (26.4) by wide margins.
Izzy Nobili won the 800M (2:29.6), placed 2nd in the mile (5:29.1) and grabbed a third place in javelin.
Abigale Farrell was 2nd in the two mile (11:39.3) and third in the mile (5:43.9).
Senior captain Claire Conerly won shot put (27’3”). Also in throws Sydney Griffin won discus (76’) and placed 2nd in shot put (26’9.5”)
Rebekah Pranga placed in three events. Pranga was 2nd in the 400M (65.7), 2nd in long jump (14’6.5”) and 2nd in triple jump (31’10”) The triple jump was a PR on her final attempt and came as a surprise as the skies had opened up to a pouring rain.
Nauset got two third places out of hurdles with Lillian Manganaro (100MH-18.8) and Abigail Qvarnstrom (1:15.1).
That brings their record to 1-1. Over vacation the team will travel to North Attleboro for a non-league contest.
