The Nauset Fleet lived up to their names at the small school Auerbach Freshman-Sophomore Meet. The Warriors  christened the new Plymouth South track with five winning performances and two meet “Outstanding Performers”.

 

Monique Malcolm was named the “Outstanding Meet Performer” with three wins, one meet record and two school records. In the 200M she ran 25.37 eclipsing the meet record set by Brook-Lynne Williams (Norton) of 25.46 set in 2015. That was also a new school record. In the 100M Malcolm placed 1st breaking the school record with a 12.47 clocking. Malcolm also anchored the winning 4X400 which posted a team’s season best of 4:14.22.

 

Malcolm was joined on the winning relay by Izzy Nobili, Sophie Christopher and Abigail Qvarnstrom.

 

Christopher was named “Outstanding Field Event” performer. Her 33’10” triple jump placed 2nd overall and was a nearly 2’ improvement on her previous PR. It also broke a Nausetr record set 19 years ago. She also won the 400M Hurdles (69.51) for the second consecutive year.

 

Izzy Nobili won the 800M for the second year in a row posting a season best 2:23.97.

 

Qvarnstrom ran a season best 73.03 for 4th place. She was 7th a year ago.

 

In the mile Ella Kelly placed 3rd. She won the unseeded heat by a large margin. Entering the meet seeded 26th, her 5:33.51 beat all but two runners from the seeded heat.

 

Sydney Griffin placed 6th in shot put at 27’4.25” and 8th in discus at 79’00”.

 

Nauset also got a top-10 performance out of Rachel Pranga who placed 9th in the two-mile at 12:34.64.
