Boys showed exceptional team effort if not always teamwork in a successful first game of the season. Warriors had most of the ball the entire game but occasionally lost control of the middle of the park because we played too high or too low. We had over ten chances in the first half that weren't finished because of poor shot selection, impatience, or failure to play the ball across the face of the goal.  All of this changed in the first five minutes of the second half, and as a result so did the score. Avery Santoro finished a nice ball laid off from Curtis Moore from the 18 and the Warriors were flying high. Ten minutes later we went back in the doldrums and conceded too many balls in the midfield. Vineyard took advantage of some missed clearances and poor communication and equalized in the 30th minute.  Team decided as a group that a tie was as good as a loss and put their Warrior faces on and put the Vineyard on the back foot. Alex Drown pushed the ball into the right corner for a perfect cross that ended up at the hungry feet of Avery Santoro for the brace. Osdaiver Perez was critical as an inside back. Ryan Pish and Justin King did all the right things as outside defenders to give the team the chances they had. Parker Cameron gets the Man Off the Bench award for the day.  Practice tomorrow and Friday at the regular time.
