Warriors got off to their best start against a competitive team. Just inside of 9 minutes Avery Santoro fired a shot inside the 18 which bounced off the Sandwich keeper and to the waiting feet of Jake Pearl who put the Warriors ahead 1-0 for the first half. Sandwich had speed up top and the Blue Knight midfielders were playing many direct balls in the center trying to spring a forward loose, which they eventually did 10 minutes into the second half tying the score. Ten minutes after that another direct ball was played early to the Sandwich forward line and again resulted in a Sandwich score. Despite some heroic midfield play by Cormack Parker and defensive work by Daiver Perez, the warriors couldn't put the ball in net for the rest of the game.
