MARSHFIELD HIGH SCHOOL: 1
It was another spectacular finish from the heartbreak kids yesterday as the Warriors showed patience, poise, and purpose in orchestrating the defeat of a more talented Marshfield. Matt Cahill played big in the first half, making several key saves and controlling the pace of play in the back. Outside backs Sunny Yang and Justin King defused several Marshfield attacks and restarted our own. Daiver Perez and Ryan Pisch had to be perfect, and they were. Kudos to Ms. Terrio for ferrying our second half keeper, Ernie Largie, from the varsity field. Ernie came up with two very difficult saves to keep us in the game. Despite our best efforts, however, the Rams stung us with a goal with only 8 minutes of game time and six minutes of daylight left. Far from defeated, however, Warriors changed formation, regrouped and went on the attack. Colin Terrio played a perfect through ball to Curtis Moore who went one v one with the keeper and buried it in the side netting. Not content with a tie, and in the darkening field, Alex Drown played a perfectly weighted ball to the far left corner. Jake Pearl raced onto the ball and one-timed it across the face where Curis Moore slide-tackled it home, and the Warrior bench went wild. Best victory of the year!
