The Nauset Boys XC team put on a good showing as a team in the first meet of the year even though the team is very young (lots of freshmen and sophomores) and full of first time cross country runners.

Although we lost, we had a lot of good signs of a strong season. Brian Brooks took the lead from the start and pulled away from everyone, winning by over 30 seconds. The Barnstable coaches were in awe and could not stop praising his performance!

The exceptional Barnstable team took eight of the next nine places, but fisrt time runner Dylan McDonough kept them apart by grabbing sixth place and 2nd Nauset runner! New comer Jake Whitfield was Nauset's 3rd runner, bringing with him Ryan Giuliano 12th, Koki Riley 13th, and Colin Nobili 15th. Right behind was first time runner Jake Eldridge 19th and Jake Avery 20th. Following closely were Max Christopher 23rd, Keenan Pombo 24th Luke Savini 26th, Andrew Grattan 28th, Noah Smith 31st, Taigh Lawless 32nd, Hunter MacDonald 36th, Brendan Hamaty 37th, Christian Beer 38th, Jack Norgeot 39th, Linus Mailwitz 43rd, and Cameron MacMartin 44th.
