The Nauset boys cross country team had a productive day at the Big Wave Invitational this past Saturday. All eight runners improved their mile pace times even though it was another hot and humid day. In the freshman/sophomore race, packed with 150 runners, sophomore Finn Riley medaled with a ninth Place finish with the time of 14:10. Freshman Jeremiah Pranga also earned a medal finishing in 15th Place with the time of 14:52 and freshman Ben Calsson rounded out the top 25 with the timer 15:22.
The junior/ senior race was a very tight race with 120 runners racing extremely close together in times. Only the top three runners were separated from that pack. Senior captain Jake Pearl was one of those runners, finishing second overall with a time of 13:08 and running under five minutes for the 1st mile! Nauset’s next four ran as a true varsity group with only 45 seconds separating them. Junior Aidan Dill 34th at 15:12, senior captain Max Christopher 38th at 15:27, Junior Kieran Norton 56 at 15:51 and Junior Tyler Hutchinson 58th at 15:55 ran strong and finished fifth as a team.
Great effort by all the nice of runners this weekend both as a team and as individuals.
