HOMECOMING TRI-MEET
NAUSET VS. STURGIS and CT/HARWICH
Nauset Women Warriors were on the war path today. Too bad one of the "twins" from Sturgis was missing! (out w/ the flu) Regardless- We gave Sturgis's #1 runner a race! (and a haircut- sorry folks..inside joke)
Robyn Argo left everyone in the dust today as she blazed to a pb and re-set her existing school record. (last yr she ran a 20:25, and today clocked a 20:05) Nice job Robyn- a great run in your last Nauset homecoming!
On to Sarah Knop- who also defeated Alaina Ohm! Knop placed 2nd and also set a career best time finishing strong with a 21:03. Freshman Jenny Leyton, sporting her new racing flats dropped nearly a minute off her previous time! And placed 4th. WOW!
Marina Wells placed 5th- while Haley Van Ness took 8th and also grabbed a pb today (it was either the homecoming mystic or her new running flats!) :40 sec!!!!
Ally Kemp was a minute behind Van Ness, placing 9th and dropping nearly :13 sec off her previous mark.
Addie Boyd finally turned into a true WOMAN WARRIOR today! She placed 10th, but more importantly, dropped :64 sec! She crossed the threshhold today and is on the other side now for good! Other Nauset runners deserving kuddos:
Julia Renaud (pb time), Alex Malloy ( dropped over one minute), and Leslie Travers (dropped over a minute and a half!)
All and all....a tremendous effort considering it was our homecoming a day early!!! We rallied and found a way to keep the spirit up despite the schedule change. Thanks to the captains today who led the team in warm-up and well wishes during the pre-meet session.
Thanks to Emer Valdez for helping out at the meet and congrats to the boys team for a great effort as well today. And finally- to the new AD and princiapl. Keith Kenyon has been extremely supportive and approachable all season. Thanks for your long days and sincere effort with everything you have done thus far. Thanks Mr. Conrad. It means alot to see you on the sidelines!
