Nauset hosted DY in an epic showdown in the season opener and won 21-34, beating DY for the first time in program history.
Nauset's Coralea Geraniotis led from the start, setting a fast pace early out of the gates. She set a new course record as well, crossing the finish line in 19:29. Sr. Alison Burns (19:33) and freshman Maddie Nobili (19:41) grabbed the 2nd and 3rd place spots securing critical points for the Lady Warriors while also beating DY's #1 runner Sydney McCann. Callie Schadt was Nauset's 4th runner to cross the line at 20:40 while Olivia Bois was Nauset's #5 in at 21:08.
Other Nauset runners turning heads today and placing in the top 20 overall were:
Casey Taber 11th, Georgia Benz 14th, Hannah Garside 15th, Sydney Wacht 16th, Alexis Comeau 18th, and Christine Burns 19th. 54 runners competed in the 2.9 mile XC course.
