The Nauset Girls took home the 2014 MIAA Eastern Mass Divisional XC Championships title today in Div 4.

The 5k race featured over 22 schools including DY (5th), Sandwich (11th), and Falmouth (12th).

It was a total team effort for Nauset as the Lady Warriors raced 7 of their fastest, each hitting times that collectively pushed Nauset to the top of the scoreboard. Coralea Geraniotis crushed the field today and won the overall individual title, crossing the line in first place with an 18:53. Freshman Maddie Nobili also turned heads today as she placed 11th with a 19:30. Sr. Alison Burns placed 17th with an outstanding time of 19:50 while Callie Schadt came up with another brilliant effort on the day and cruised in at the 20 minute mark! The 5th runner in for Nauset was Olivia Bois who really closed the deal for the team as she dropped nearly a minute off of her previous best 5k posting a 21:10. Casey Taber also grabbed a pr with her amazing 21:40! Alexis Comeau was also impressive posting 23 minutes. The girls will move on to the ALL-STATE meet next  Saturday at Franklin park. This is the first time in program history that Nauset has gone as a TEAM to the ALL-STATES. Only the top 4 teams in each divisional meet advance. It was a tall order for Nauset today and they came through! Senior Sydney Wacht will run in place of Alexis Comeau next week who is not able to attend.
