     The Twilight Invitational XC meet lived up to its hype once again this year. Over 3,000 athletes competed Saturday afternoon and evening in Falmouth at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds. The Nauset XC teams joined approx 199 other high schools from Massachusetts on what seems to be one of the fastest courses as well. The Nauset girls competed in 2 different 5k races based on prior 5k times posted this season. The first race was the JV Div 2 which kicked off at 5:26pm. All 8 girls recorded personal best times on the season. And the most notable performances in that race went to Joy Trudel who recorded a 22:18 dropping more than a minute off her previous 5k and also winning a "top 25" finisher medal. Another impressive performance went to Freshman runner Rebekah Pranga who had a similar time drop crossing the line in 22:35. In the Varsity race, which started at 6:48 pm (each team only allowed 7 runners) Madaket Nobili earned her seasons best 5k time by posting an 18:47 (6:03 mile pace) which was good for an overall 10th place finish. In addition she won a "top 25" finisher medal. Close behind was Tara Ellard who placed 23rd overall and recorded a spectacular time of 19:14. Emily Wall was Nauset's 3rd girl in at 20:17 while Olivia Bois was Nauset's 4th in at 21:03. Hannah Brunelle grabbed our 5th spot at 22:58. The varsity race had 33 scoring teams and the Nauset girls placed 7th. Congratulations Nauset GXC.
