CANTON HIGH SCHOOL: 50
The Nauset GXC team kicked off the season with a home opener win 15-50 against Canton HS.
The Nauset girls swept the first 5 places, while Canton grabbed 6th, 7th and 8th. Senior captains Madaket Nobili and Tara Ellard took the first 2 spots, 19:00 and 20:29 while newcomers (freshman runners) Rachel Pranga (21:18,) Izzy Nobili (21:19), and Ella Kelly (21:29) placed 3, 4 and 5. Impressive this season and an interesting side note is the 3 sets of sisters on the team: Madaket and Izzy Nobili 1st and 4th, Ella and Madeline Kelly 5th and 12th and Rachel and Rebekah Pranga 3rd and 9th.
The Nauset girls looked strong today and were 18 deep on the start line. The girls will travel to Lakeville, MA on Sept. 16th for an invitational and then on to Barnstable in non-league action on Sept. 20th.
