Senior captains Madaket Nobili and Tara Ellard led the Nauset GXC team to a 18-37 victory on a challenging 2.85 mile Marshfield course. Nobili crossed the line first in 18:59 while Ellard took second overall in 19:21.
The third runner across the line was Marshfield freshman Sofia Lovuolo who clocked a 19:46. Close behind with an impressive race was Nauset freshman Rachel Pranga (20:14) placing 4th. Nauset managed to grab the next two spots, 5th Ella Kelly and 6th Izzy Nobili. Both freshman girls ran strong races posting 20:40 and 20:42 respectively. Marshfield had great depth today and took the next 11 spots ahead of Nauset's Hannah Brunelle (22:44), Rebekah Pranga (22:53) and Madelyn Kelly (22:58). Despite big numbers and a strong middle pack, Marshfield couldn't respond to Nauset's fab 5; Madaket and Izzy Nobili, Tara Ellard, Rachel Pranga and Ella Kelly, hence the winning score for Nauset.
The girls will host Falmouth Oct. 3 in ACL action. Go Lady Warriors!
