The Nauset Girls XC team clinched the ACL title today as they beat Sandwich 23-32 on the road.
Rachel Pranga took first place overall in a blazing time of 19:58. Sandwich's Emma Eastman placed 2nd in 20:19. Abby Farrell (20:21) and Izzy Nobili (20:28) placed 3rd and 4th respectively. The foursome ran together for nearly the entire course, but it was Pranga that made the move with less than a half mile to go. She took off and never looked back- beating Eastman by over 20 secods. On what is known to be one of the more difficult XC courses in the area, Nauset's front runners did a tremendous job placing three runners in the top four scoring positions. Ella Kelly placed 6th for Nauset in 21:37 while Hannah Brunelle placed 9th in a career best performance (22:11) on this course. In addition, freshman Lilly Pooler had a seasons best time of 24:37 today, good for 14th place. She has dropped more than 2 minutes off her 5k in recent weeks. Hats off today to the little ladies from Nauset!!!
