NORTH EASTHAM – Nauset, missing two of its top players, played to a stunning scoreless tie with Falmouth. That helps avenge a 7-0 loss to the Clippers earlier this season.
The Warriors were without Sammy Lomba, who will miss the rest of the season because of injury, and Sarah Roderick, who was injured but has been cleared to play in today's game against Mashpee.
Nauset is 2-4-3, 0-4-2.
Nauset, led by midfielder Anna Gubbins, played a defensive game and Falmouth had the better scoring chances. But led by sweeper Kellianne Pannoni and three freshmen – Emma Gubbins, Kristen Brown and Carolyn Brooks – the Warriors were able to keep Falmouth off the board. Kiana Brophy was outstanding up front for the Warriors.
Twin sisters Tabitha and Jen Cardeiro split time in net and each were outstanding, Falmouth coach Greg Gilbert said. Sarah Gordon and Sarah Bunker had solid games for Falmouth (3-1-6).
