Sandwich 2, Nauset 0

NORTH EASTHAM – The second time around seems to be the charm for the Blue Knights.

Sandwich (7-4-3, 6-2-3 ACL) has shut out four straight league opponents as the teams start their second cycle of matchups against ACL teams. The Blue Knights have three more league matches and need one more point to qualify for the MIAA tournament. Nauset falls to 2-8-6, 0-8-3 in the league.

Sharon Pietryka earned her sixth shutout on the season and got key defensive support from Caroline Wall. Midfielder Paige Wilcox and forward Emily Duerr were also key for Sandwich.

Maddie Reynolds gave Pietryka all the offense she would need, volleying home a high floater into the upper right corner just six minutes in. Lea Adams added an insurance goal a minute before halftime off a corner taken by Kenna Garrison.

Sara Roderick, Mallory Joyce and Kristen Brown were standouts for Nauset.
