Nauset played a very tough Mashpee Varsity team tonight and showed their resilience with a 2nd half comeback.
Nauset was down 1-0 at halftime after a tough first half against an aggressive, fast paced Mashpee team. At 11 minutes into the second half, Abby Sullivan was fouled 10 yards outside the box giving Nauset a direct kick. Emily McGrath hit the perfect shot that landed in the top right corner of the goal to tie the game, 1-1.
At the 26th minute into the second half, Abby Sullivan was passed a ball from Emily McGrath and their was no stopping her. Abby took it 50 yards at full speed, defeating two defenders and setting up a one vs one against the goalie which she nailed in the far right corner of the goal to put Nauset in the lead.
Emma Shackelford played a strong game in defense shutting down their outside forwards attempts to penetrate down the sideline.
