Nauset played its most challenging game of the season yesterday against Sandwich.  Although Nauset recorded a 3-5 loss, the game was a nail biter with Nauset & Sandwich rotating which team was in the lead throughout a majority of the game.  

Marielle McEnaney scored Nauset's first goal at 10 minutes into the game after a beautiful run down the sidelines to target a perfect shot over the goalie's head.  Sandwich countered minutes later to tie the game. 1-1.  

Caley Fry scored an amazing goal from a cross by Marielle McEnaney to put Nauset up 2-1 in the first half. Less than 5 minutes later Sandwich scored to tie the game, 2-2.  Abby Sullivan scored a nice goal from an Emily McGrath pass to put Nauset up 3-2 but Sandwich immediately countered with another goal to end the first half with a 3-3 tie.  Both teams recharged and came out fighting (literally sometimes, very physical game) but Sandwich found the net two more times to secure a 5-3 win.

Symone Seidewand, Maddie O'Hara and Emma Shackelford played very strong in defense for Nauset. Emily McGrath and Haley Benz played well pressuring Sandwich's midfield continuously. Marielle McEnaney played a great game for Nauset with a goal and an assist.
