Nauset: Last night the Nauset Warriors played a back and forth battle with the visiting Eagles of Plymouth North. After 2 tough away games with Marshfield and Barnstable, the home Warriors got off to a slow start. The Eagles started with 2- 3 pointers and a 8-0 lead.
The first quarter ended in a 17-12 Eagles lead. Jimmy Sullivan and Colby Frodel each had 4 points in the quarter. They were able to attack the middle of the Eagle zone and start the Nauset scoring attack.
The second quarter was marked by full court defensive pressure by both teams. Jamie Law was the leader on the boards and had 6 points in the quarter. Faouzi Talabi had a key 3-pointer in the quarter. The Halftime score was 34-29 Eagles.
The 3rd quarter tempo slowed a bit. The scoring from Nauset was led by Sullivan and Frodel again. They each had 5 points in the quarter. The score at the end of 3 quarters was 50-44 Plymouth North.
The Warriors had a few chances to steal the game from the Eagles, but a few turnovers at the end stopped the rally. Kingsley Samuels defensive intensity and offensive aggressiveness led the charge at the start of the 4th quarter. Kingsley had 9 points in the 4th quarter. The rally ended with under a minute when Plymouth North got a turnover and a basket to seal the game.
The home team played with Intensity and Heart!! After some really tough road games they kept their head in the game and battled for 4-Quarters. They are very close to turning the corner and winning a few games. Their next chance is Friday night at Home against the Sandwich Blue Knights.
