     "Beauty in the water"

The Nauset mermaids had home pool advantage (Willys Gym-Eastham) and gave spectators an extraordinary show. SeaWorld couldn't even compete with these mermaids! The energy and spirit of the entire Nauset girls swim team was on display as they entertained their parents and coaches winning all 11 races in what was the most exciting dual meet of the season to date.

Swimming faster than a dolphin, Marie Chamberlain set the pace in the opening 200 medley relay as she was the first leg (backstroke) and took a commanding lead, giving team mates Shylee Stewart, Hannah Walsh and Julie Hayoun motivation to get the job done. Nauset out paced the Whalers by 4 seconds taking first place convincingly. As exciting, was the Warriors "B" relay- Annie Harris, Allie Dadoly, Molly Drake, and Olivia Miller. The foursome also turned heads grabbing 3rd place  (2 important early meet points) while also posting a seasons best time.

Individual winners in the meet included Chamberlain in the 500 free and 100 back, Stewart in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke (both tight races where she showcased her competitive drive winning in the home stretch!), Hannah the "animal" Walsh in the 200 free and 100 fly, Whitney Knowlton-Wardle in the 200 IM, and Julie Hayoun "French Connection" in the 100 free (56.44)...in what was one of the most spectacular races of the season in which she beat out #1 Nantucket swimmer Sophie Davies in a photo finish (56.55)

Annie Harris and Olivia Miller were dynamic all night as each posted superb "personal best" relay splits and were significant in the overall team score, placing in key spots throughout the meet. Molly Drake and Kara Smith were stellar in the 100 fly, taking 3rd and 4th respectively and contributing to the overall Nauset win. Other personal bests went to Juliana O'Hara in the 100 breaststroke, Molly Drake in the 200 free, Maddie Larson-200 free, Miller and Harris in the 200IM, Hayoun in the 50 and 100 free. In addition, Whitney Knowlton-Wardle is commended for her unbelievable anchor leg in the 400 free relay as she was able to hold off Nantuckets Sophie Davies to grab the win in the final race of the night for Nauset. She posted a career best split of 58.9

Nauset hosts Barnstable Thursday evening and hopes to take home the League Crown!
