The Lady Warriors' hosted the Marshfield Rams Friday night, and although Nauset's defensive tenacity and pressure was on hand from the start of the game, Marshfield made the extra passes to play just beyond reach, holding a 4-point lead at halftime (28-24) and maintaining control throughout the second half to win the game 53-45. While Nauset outscored Marshfield in the second quarter, the team was not able to establish itself aggressively enough in the 3rd quarter, as Marshfield outscored the Warriors 17-11. This slight margin carried over into the fourth quarter and ultimately proved to be the difference between the win and the loss. Crucial turnovers and shooting 7-12 (58%) from the line also hurt the Warriors down the stretch.

Although the team was 19 of 39 from the floor, Nauset showed balanced scoring among Kristen Brown (12 pts), Jenny Leyton (12 pts), Carolyn Brooks (9 pts), and Kayla Smith (8 pts). Caitlin Schadt added 4 pts and 6 rebounds. Nauset travels to Plymouth North on Tuesday.
