The Nauset Girls' Basketball team played the best game they have played Sandwich in several years at home on Tuesday, and although we lost by a mere 6 points, the fact that we had the Blue Knights on the ropes in the last few minutes is a testament to how far the Warriors have come since the opening of the season. Sandwich had a 7-point halftime lead, but Nauset cut it down to 55-52 in the last few minutes. Unfortunately, the Warriors were 3 of 14 from the line, which made a difference down the stretch. Jenny Leyton and Carolyn Brooks led Nauset with 14 points and 13 points. Callie Schadt added 10 points along with Kristen Brown (7 pts) and Kayla Smith (6 pts). Caitlin Schadt ripped down 10 rebounds and contributed 4 points. Leyton, Brooks, and Brown were also big on the boards.
