All-around effort leads Nauset past Falmouth HS 5-4

Nauset Regional beat Falmouth HS 5-4 Wednesday with a total team effort on both offense and defense. Noah Grevelis Mason Sift, Gerritt Merrill and Brennan Chisholm all had 2 hits apiece in the 10 hit assault on Falmouth.

Merrill went 2-4 and drove in one, Chisholm also had an RBI single and Willy Boyd had a sac fly to score a run. Paul Prue pitched strong for the Warriors recording the win. Merrill came on with two out in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and struck out the only batter he faced to record his first save.

Nauset would not relinquish the lead as Falmouth HS was unable to weather a five-run sixth inning deficit.

Falmouth HS scored on an RBI double by Owen Higgins in the sixth inning and an RBI single by N. Couhig, an RBI single by Mike Couhig, and an RBI single by Owen Higgins in the seventh inning. Still, Falmouth HS couldn't catch the Warriors

Nauset went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Merrill. The Warriors improved their record to 7-1 (3-1 ACL). The Warriors will be looking for some revenge when they meet their next opponent D-Y, who handed the Warriors their only loss of the season in their first outing.
