Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity defeats Barnstable HS after late game sacrifice fly, 7-6
Nauset outlasted Barnstable HS on Monday after nine lead changes, squeaking out a 7-6 win at Eldredge Field, Orleans (Home).
The Warriors took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. A sacrifice fly by Willy Boyd scored Trevor Ridley and gave the lead for good.
Boyd had another productive day at the plate going 2-3, driving in one and scoring twice.
Chris Holcomb got the win in relief for Nauset. Holcomb pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed three runs.
In the bottom of the first, Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity grabbed the early lead, 1-0.
Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity scored two runs of its own in the third off of two Red Raider errors.
