Both Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity and Sandwich HS put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was Nauset that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-1 win at Eldredge Field, Orleans (Home).

Sandwich HS got five hits compared with just four for Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity, but Sandwich HS stranded six on base.

Sam Majewski had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the third and fifth innings.

Nauset relied on Chris Holcomb to eat up innings en route to the win. Holcomb pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out five.

Crowther ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out eight, and allowed four runs.

In the fifth inning, Sandwich HS pushed across its only run of the day on an error.

After a quick strike from Sandwich HS, Nauset responded with one run in the fifth on an RBI triple by Sam Majewski.
