Nauset Senior Gerritt Merrill kept Dighton-Rehobeth HS off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on seven hits while striking out seven.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Nauset's Noah Grevelis scored one run on a groundout by Willy Boyd.
Nauset Regional Warriors Varsity pushed across one run in both the second and the sixth. In the second, Nauset scored on a fielder's choice, bringing home Noah Johnson. And in the sixth, Merrill scored on a squeeze play executed by Mason Swift.
The Falcon's greatest threat came in the 6th inning with the bases loaded 2 outs. Sam Majewski made a fine play on a slow roller to end the inning.
