Offenses dominate as Nauset JV Baseball outscores Archbishop Williams 12-8

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between Nauset  and Archbishop Williams, as the two teams put up 20 runs combined in a 12-8 Nauset win.

There were 20 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.

Mike Doherty had two extra-base hits for the Warriors. He doubled in the second and third innings and singled in the sixth inning.

Ronan Chisholm, Doherty and James Sandison helped lead Nauset. They combined for seven hits and four RBIs.

The top of the second saw the Warriors take an early lead, 2-0. Nauset's rally started when Doherty doubled. A single by Sherman Merrill then moved Doherty from second to third. They then tacked on more runs when Merrill scored on an RBI single by Sandison.

Archbishop Williams survived Nauset surge and put up two runs of its own in the second. Archbishop Williams scored on an RBI double by Dolan and an RBI double by Bellew.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as Nauset scored two runs on an RBI double by Doherty and an error.

Nauset piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth. A sacrifice fly scored Chisholm to start the scoring in the inning.

After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fifth, Archbishop Williams faced just a 7-5 deficit. A two-run error and an RBI single by Dolan set off Archbishop Williams rally. Finally, Sam Palmer induced an inning-ending fly out from Bellew.

Nauset tacked on another five runs in the sixth. The inning looked promising, as Koki Riley doubled, scoring Elijah Costa to kick things off.

Three runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Archbishop Williams close its deficit to 12-8. A two-run single by Stewart and an RBI single by Dolan sparked Archbishop Williams' rally. JP Dysart ended the game by getting Free to ground out.
