Mike Doherty leads Nauset JV Baseball to 3-1 victory thanks to 8 strikeouts
Saturday was a great day for Mike Doherty, as Doherty struck out eight batters to carry Nauset JV Baseball to a 3-1 victory over Plymouth North High School in seven innings.
Doherty was also hot from the plate for the Warriors. Doherty went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Nauset jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
In the second inning, Plymouth North High School pushed across its only run of the day on a groundout by Durmis.
Nauset went up for good in the fourth, scoring one run on a sacrifice fly by Doherty.
