After a week of bad weather and match postponements, the Nauset Girls Golf season got under way with a home match vs. Silver Lake. Silver Lake won the match winning 4 individual matches while Nauset won 2. Despite the loss there were several highlights for the Nauset team. Sophomore Corinne Monger had a birdie on the par 5 7th hole, sinking a 30+ foot putt. Senior Sammi Higgins had a birdie on the par 3 2nd hole. New golfer Sophomore Rae Gainey won some holes in her first ever match. Overall matches were won by Sophomore Corinne Monger and Senior Captain Caroline Codair. The new members of the team, many who are also new golfers, performed well surviving the nerves and jitters of their 1st matches. This experience can be summarized by Sophomore Lizz Czech's experience, who upon hitting her drive on hole #1 let out a huge breath of air and looked like she was relived she didn't throw up!
