Nauset vs. Marshfield Girls

Nauset fell to a strong Marshfield team 82-54. The silver lining on a cold and snowy day was the strong showing by underclassmen.

Freshmen Sophie Christopher (400M hurdles-73.1), Izzy Nobili (800M-2:22.7) and Rachel Pranga (mile-5:40.7) were all winners. Sophomores Hannah Gale (100M hurdles -17.0) and Kara Moore (high jump – 4’6”) were also victorious while Abby Farrell grabbed 2^nd place in the two mile with a fine 12:14. That event was won by senior captain Tara Ellard (11:49). Another winner was Amy Poyant who led a sweep of the discus event. She was joined by Nora Lucy and Paige McMakin to grab 9 points in the event. Nauset’s other sweep was the 100M hurdles where Gale’s teammates Lillian Manganaro and Christopher placed 2^nd and third. Sydney Griffen placed second in the shot put and Tika Rank was third. Alena O’Conner netted thirds in both the triple jump and 200M dash. Abby Quarnstrom placed 3^rd in the 400M hurdles and Ella Kelly placed 3^rd in the mile.

Nauset’s record now stands at 2-1.
