Seniors Madaket Nobili, Tara Ellard, Alena O’Connor, Neilly Rose, Caroline Sullivan, Hannah Muse, Latoya Brown and Polly Watson brought all they could to the Nauset track in the last home meet of their careers. It was memorable! In the end they were edged by just two points against perennial Cape Cod champion Dennis-Yarmouth. D-Y posted a huge lead after the field events by winning all six events, but  Nauset proved the superior team on the track winning 6 of 8 running events and both relays.

 

Rebecca Pranga had an outstanding day scoring 16.25 points against Monomoy and 12.25 against D-Y. Her performance included : 400M (1st-63.1), triple jump (2nd-31’5.25”), long jump (14’9.25”) and ran on the winning 4X400M relay. All were both career bests and team bests for the year. She was joined in the 4X400M by Tara Ellard, Sophie Christopher and Izzy Nobili in running a time of 4:27.7 - a team leading time for 2018.

 

Ellard also won the two mile (11:58.6). Christopher won the 400M hurdles with a PR 1:00.5) and placed in the high jump against Monomoy. Izzy Nobili won the 800M against both teams with a personal best of 2:21.9.

 

The Warriors won the 4X100 against both teams at 53.7. That team consisted of Taylor Fleming, Polly Watson, Alena O’Connor and Kara Moore. Watson also placed in the 100M (14.0) vs. both and long jump vs. Monomoy. O’Connor was 2nd in the 200 (28.4) while placing 2nd in the triple jump (28’8.25) vs. Monomoy. Moore won the 200M (27.2) against both teams while winning the high jump against Monomoy.

 

Rachel Pranga was Nauset’s other winner by running 5:28.1 in the mile. Madaket Nobili placed 23nd in the mile (5:32) and Abby Farrel placed 2nd in the two mile (12:20.8) vs. both.

 

Nauset got wins vs. Monomoy with Sydney Griffinn (shot put), Amy Poyant (discus), Polly Watson (100M), Lilly Manganaro (1100MH-17.6). Other scorers in the meet included Hailee Wilcox, Zika Rank, Evie Rose, Nora Lucy, Hannah Brunelle, Hannah Muse and Caroline Sullivan.

 

The upperclassmen are off this weekend as the freshman and sophomores compete in Norwell on Saturday. Nauset’s final dual meet is against Sandwich on Tuesday.
