Fleet was an apt name for the Nauset girls as they won 5 events on the track at the ACL Championships.
Sophomore Monique Malcolm won two sprint events and anchored the winning relay while sophomore Sophie Christopher added a first and second place finish, a school record and joined Malcolm on the winning relay.
Malcolm is undefeated in the 100M and 200M in the ACL this season and won both events by a large margin. Her 100M time of 12.55 won by .8 seconds and her 200M of 25.98 won by over a second.
Christopher broke her own school record in the triple jump with a bound of 35’5.5” for second place then won the 400M hurdles for the second consecutive year. Her time of 1:07.41 was a PR and narrowly missed the meet record.
Junior Rebekah Pranga PR’d in the 400M for the second consecutive meet, this time winning at 1:01.74. She also placed 3rd in the triple jump tying her PR of 32’7”.
Pranga, Christopher and Malcolm then combined with sophomore Izzy Nobili to win the 4X400M (4:15.17) by over 5 seconds. Nobili also placed 3rd in the 800M at 2:23.14.
Nauset also placed high in both the mile and two mile. Abigale Farrell (JR) placed 2nd in the two mile (11:45.28) while Rachel Pranga (SO) was 3rd (12:22.50) and Leah Hoopes 6th (14:32.60). Ella Kelly (SO) was third in the mile (5:27.41) just 6 seconds behind the winner. The 4X800M team of Farrell, Pranga, Kelly and Hoopes ran a state qualifier 10:33.76 for second place.
Sophomore Sydney Griffin placed in both the discus and shot put. Her discus toss of 95’ broke her previous best of 88’8” and placed third. In the shot put her 28’7” throw was 4th.
Griffin then led off the 4X100M Relay (54.15) that placed 4th. Her teammates were Kara Moore (JR) , Abigail Qvarnstrom and Hailee Wilcox. Qvarnstrom placed 4th in the 400M hurdles (1:13.12), Moore was 4th in the 200M (27.97) and Wilcox was 6th in the 400M (1:07.48-PR).
Nauset placed 3rd and 6th in the javelin with Izzy Nobili (75’8”-PR) and Stephanie Gould (63’8”). Gould was also 8th in shot put at 23’5.5”.
Freshman Rose Freeman placed tied for 5th at 4’6” in the high jump.
Four more freshmen gained top-10 performances. Charlotte Manganaro was 9th in both the 100M (14.58) and 200M (30.19). Cali Griffin was 8th in triple jump (30’2”). In discus Cacey Desruisseaux (60’0”) and Kalandra Anderson (59’6”) placed 9th and 10th.

In addition to their 3rd place finish at the ACL Championship Meet the “Fleet” finished their dual meet season at 4-3. They next compete at the MIAA Division 3 Championship.
