It was the Warrior Within competition and nothing gets the blood going like playing on your former field against your former coach and teammates.  Freshman held the ball fairly well thanks to the quick feet and darting movements of Aiden Kelly, Vance Bates, and Ryan Pish.  Owen Wilcox anchored the defense well to bring the first half to a 0-0 tie.  The middle school started early and strong with a push to the left part of their attacking zone that resulted in box scramble and goal.  Vance Bates answered almost immediate with a piece of wizardry down the middle to tie the game. With four minutes left Owen Wilcox served up a short corner that rebounded right back to him just outside the upper corner of the box.  A one-time perfect toe-down, body over ball, laces rocket sent the ball swerving into the far post upper ninety. Seconds later Owen was covered in glory and celebrating teammates. Special thanks to Mrs. Sandison, Mrs Eldridge, and Mrs. Wilcox for driving.
