Boys Junior Varsity Soccer vs. Monomoy Regional High School

Warriors Win: 3 - 1
The Brothers Griffiths were the difference in yesterday's one and only contest on the Warrior turf. Tarihq put us on the board first by burying a PK won by Tesfu McMillan making a run down the right side. Midfield work by Clay Kenny, Shavar Champagnie, and Spencer Rushnak together with some brave and intelligent play by center backs, Ben Garside and Laird Parker, helped to diffuse the Sharks attack. In the second half Akeem used a beautiful outside of the foot move to give himself just enough room at the top of the 18 to fire a shot into the back of the net to make it 2-0. Nick Norman, who took over net from Liam Lawless after an injury, earned an assist after a 60 yard punt found its way to Tarihq who boldly and aggressively pushed the ball past the keeper for his brace and the team's third goal.

3-0 at half thanks to good individual efforts on the part of Tarihq and Akeem Griffiths and Shavar Champagnie. But the best part of the Nauset game came in the second half when the back line under the direction of Ben Garside and the midfield under direction of Ivan Hill sprang to life to give the warriors better possession and chances. Clay Kenny capitalized on one of the those chances and Akeem Griffiths on another to make it 5-0. Derek Perry did very well on the outside of the Nauset midfield.

Warriors Win: 4 - 0
Warriors scored twice in the first twenty minutes of the game and never looked back. Tesfu McMillan got the action started in the 8th minute with a right footed cross from the left side which found the waiting foot of Nick Norman for the score. Ten minutes later Colin Terrio played a well timed diagonal ball from the left to Ansel Drown who buried the shot from the twenty. Falmouth strikers buzzed dangerously in the first half but center backs Nolan Ellard and Andrew Wilson backed each other up and found ways to confound the building attacks. In the second half Shavar Champagnie took advantage of a box scramble and a rebound to make it 3-0. With five minutes remaining, Laird Parker played a very nice volley off a rebound from the keeper for the Warriors' fourth goal. Ben Garside stood out in the back and Tim Palheiro put in some quality minutes in the defensive center mid position.

Warriors Win: 3 - 0
BJV Warriors played their best game of the season to date. We were switching the point of attack, finding seams for lethal passes, winning 50/50 balls, and finding the back of the net. Louie the Brazilian worked his magic about 20 minutes into the first half to make it 1-0. In the second half Tarihq Griffiths got hold of a ball at the 18, broke through the Sandwich defense and beat the keeper 1v for our second score. His brother, Akeem Griffiths, not wanting to fall behind put on a juggling clinic in front of the Sandwich keeper and finished for our third and final goal. Spencer Rushnak and Ivan Hill were very strong in the midfield for the warriors.

Warriors Win: 5 - 1
Although warriors were missing some players because of injuries and illness, there was no lack of interest in pressing the attack from the game's outset. Nick Norman got things started early in the game by tapping in a ball misplayed by the DY keeper. Centerback Andrew Wilson made it two as he moved forward to the twenty - five and hit a long driven ball to the back of the net. Brazilian Louie scored our third from the about the same distance on the other side of the field. Second half saw a brief resurgence from the DY midfielders as they capitalized on a defensive error to make it 3-1. Louie answered about 10 minutes later with a perfectly place shot in the far post side netting. Akeem Griffiths who had a first half assist for Andrew Wilson's goal, made it 5-1 with a solo effort from the top of the box. Ben Garside, Liam Lawless, and Noah Enobakhare controlled the ball nicely from the back line.

Warriors Win: 2 - 0
Under the defensive leadership of Andrew Wilson and Nolan Ellard, BJV soccer racked up their second win of the season. Andrew and Nolan gave us the confidence to possess in the midfield and to take some chances up top one of which resulted in an excellent second effort goal by Tesfu McMillan. Second half produced a few nervous moments for the Warriors but outside backs Ben Garside, Will Chace, and Colin Terrio rose to the occasion to curtail the danger. Brazilian Louie sealed the deal late in the game with a last minute goal from the top of the 18.

Warriors Win: 2 - 0
Boys JV chalked up their first win of the season by defeating Barnstable 2-0. Ansel Drown scored in the 4th minute on a solo effort in which he followed his first and second shots to net the third. Toward the end of the first half Tesfu McMillan played a very nice ball just across the face of the goal out of the reach of the Barnstable keeper to the waiting feet of Ivan Hill, who scored his second goal of the season. Man of the match, however, was Nauset keeper, Kai Pearson who bravely came off his line during a Barnstable breakaway and singled handedly stuffed the opposing attacker. Unfortunately for the team, Kai was trampled by an opposing player in the second half and broke his ankle. He will be sorely missed in net.
