Nauset rebounded from a tough loss to Sandwich on Saturday with a strong 3-1 win over ACL foe, the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins. ACL leading scorer, senior captain Tyler Savonen, led the way with two goals and 1 assist, his first coming within the first 3 minutes, while Nauset received outstanding midfield play from Jimmy Quigley. Junior forward James McLeod also tallied a goal for the Warriors. Nauset continued to receive dynamite play from senior defender and captain Ben Altneu and sophomore defender Adam Huber. Freshman keeper sensation Bruce Johnson continued to defend the net with skill, putting in another strong effort. Nauset improved to 7-1-1 (5-1 ACL) on the season, and will travel to Falmouth on Wednesday for another key ACL test, with only 3 points left to gain in order to qualify for the State Tournament. Halfway through the season, Nauset does have a very favorable record, however the second half of the season will be very important to ACL placement and MIAA seeds.
