HYANNIS – Trailing 1-0 after 24 minutes, the Red Raiders held the Warriors scoreless the rest of the way in a nonleague victory.

Tyler Savonen drilled a shot into the right-hand corner of the net to give Nauset (14-3-1) the early lead before Barnstable's Craig Wilby fired a shot past a defender and found Caio Mitre, who connected on his ninth goal of the season.

Tied 1-1 at halftime, the Red Raiders (8-4-3) went ahead for good seven minutes into the second half when Newton Jordao scored on a redirect by midfielder Lucas Probst.

Jordao gave Barnstable some insurance by heading in a free kick from an Andre Soares cross.

Savonen, the Atlantic Coast League scoring leader and one of Nauset's captains, left after colliding with the Barnstable goalkeeper and didn't return. The Warriors were already without co-captain Ben Altneu.

The Raiders benefited from strong defensive play by Drew Puopolo.
