MIAA Postseason Baseball Round 1: Nauset Defeats Oliver Ames 9-0

An outstanding effort by Paul Prue hoisted Nauset to a 9-0 win in seven innings over Oliver-Ames on Thursday at Eldredge Park (Orleans).

Prue kept Oliver-Ames off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.

Prue lost his perfect game in the seventh inning on a single by Matt Muir.

 

Prue, Mike Doherty and Ronan Chisholm helped lead the Warriors. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.

Zach Sato ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The game's last lead went to Nauset thanks to a second inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an RBI double by  Owen Wilcox and an RBI single by Prue.

Nauset tacked on another three runs in the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Prue homered to kick things off.

Nauset built upon its lead with four runs in the sixth. A clutch error scored Mac LaBarge and Chisholm to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Doherty's two-run home run, bringing home Brennan Chisholm.

Prue Leads The Warriors Past Marshfield 7-0

Nauset gets 9 strikeouts from Paul Prue in 7-0 win over Marshfield.

Wednesday was a great day for Senior Paul Prue, as Prue threw a shutout to carry Nauset to a 7-0 victory over Marshfield at Eldredge Park in seven innings.

Marshfield couldn't get anything going as long as Prue was pitching. Marshfield managed just one hit off of Prue, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out nine during his seven innings of work.

The offense exploded for the Warriors in the fifth. Nauset's bats caught fire leading to five runs. Nauset on an RBI single by Sam Majewski, 2 errors by Marshfield and an RBI single by Prue.

Prue racked up two RBIs on three hits for Nauset highlighted by a triple.

Josh Eastman was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked six and struck out five.

Nauset didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on a fielder's choice.
